The Perfect Holiday Gift List

By Paige Davis

It is that time of year again when Santa’s sleigh is right around the corner. The anticipation brings me back to that childhood excitement of making lists, checking them twice, and hoping that Santa had considered me as nice.

The same question of “What would you like for Christmas?” would undoubtedly follow this year after year. The answer was always so hard since I never wanted to ask for too much, did not know what I needed, and had a lot of things I usually wanted.

Now I believe I may have finally found the balance in what is a useful gift, but also exciting.

With that, if you are expecting to be on the nice list this year and need some ideas, I give you my holiday gift list for the 2023 season.

For beverages: Brumate Tumbler

As a college student I am always on the go, leading my mobile wish list item for this year to be the Brumate Tumbler. This tumbler looks promising in being the new favorite of the season, following the current popularity of the Stanley. Once again, it may be time for our next transition.

For memories: Digital Camera

For preserving those fun times with friends, a digital camera is at the top of my list. I am guilty of falling in love with the aesthetic of film photography in comparison to the traditional iPhone. These cameras are simply perfect for capturing memories at any moment even though they can be on the more expensive side.

For practicality: Phone Wallet

I never would have thought a phone wallet would save me on so many occasions until I finally began using one. There have been so many times where I have forgotten my regular wallet, but there has not been one time I have left my phone somewhere. This makes having a phone wallet so convenient for holding your cards and ID.

This item is something I already have, but the current one has been through some tough times. I am hoping Santa will finally bring a replacement.

For comfortability: Ugg Mini Classic Boot

I love good slippers, and personally the Ugg Mini Classic Boot is my choice. These boots are so versatile that they can be easy slide on slippers, or just a casual everyday shoe.

For music therapy: Apple AirPods Max

Headphones are a necessity. This year my favorite pick must be the new Apple AirPods Max. I have been meaning to change out my first generation AirPods forever and this year may finally be time.

For relaxation: Hammock

I finally need to cave and ask for my own hammock. This is such a staple that I have forced each of my friends to share with me over the last few months. If you have never been before this can be your reason to get involved in such a relaxing activity.

Personally, I will be asking for the Kootek brand one.

For peace of mind: Apple AirTags

Everything I own always seems to go missing. This year I am finally trying to do something about it. Apple AirTags allow you to track your belongings and are extremely helpful when traveling.

For all your needs: Amazon Alexa

This is the product I never knew I needed until my roommate made my morning schedule reliant on it.

The Amazon Alexa has a magnitude of uses. To name a few, the Alexa can play music from radio stations, or Bluetooth connect to your device, give the daily news and weather, set reminders and alarms, answer any question from the internet, and even order a pizza for you. This can all be done from anywhere in the room with just a simple request.

What more could you ask for? In the end, Christmas truly is a time of love, joy, and thanks. I will always be grateful for what I receive, but also find much joy in the smiles that come from when you give. This, to me, is where the true spirit of the holidays is found.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! No matter how you celebrate, I hope your holiday season is happy and healthy. Oh, and remember, no one likes a Grinch.
