
The suspect involved in the armed robbery of a University of Tampa student early Saturday morning has been charged with three felony counts and his bond was set at $7,500 according to Hillsborough County court records.
Campus Safety and Security was responsible for detaining the suspects on the morning of the incident. Tampa Police was called and the two suspects were taken into police custody.
Robert Nolan Hall, 21, pistol swiped UT student Jared Griffin at approximately 5:15 a.m. on Saturday and has been charged with one robbery count as first degree felony and two counts of possesion of a firearm as a second degree felony. Hall and 15-year-old Christopher Castro took Griffin’s wallet, keys and lighter. Hall is currently being held in the Faulkenburg Road Jail.
According to court records, a public defender was assigned to Hall on March 1.
According to the Global Message students are encouraged to report incidents such as this to Campus Safety and Security officers immediately to increase our chances of apprehending the perpetrators.
Be alert when walking along North Boulevard, Cass Street, Kennedy Boulevard or perimeter streets.
If at all possible, don’t walk alone (on or off campus) during late night or early morning hours.
If the LASER Team is not operating, ask Campus Safety and Security officers to escort you.
