After hearing about MacQuilliam’s sudden death, Cheryl Chernoff felt compelled to help the dog.

She contacted Petsmart on Dale Mabry and wrote a letter to the corporate office.

“The idea that someone was killed and an animal was left on its own broke my heart,” Chernoff said.

Chernoff grew up with animals and has loved them her entire life. “I have three cats and would also have a dog if my husband didn’t disapprove,” she giggled.
