Technology has had its significant advances by today. Many years ago people would thrive on the idea of being able to create an exact copy of another species. It seemed like a powerful experiment left only to the imagination. However, time and genius scientist have changed that perception into an actual reality. The great species that became infamous was a sheep that was cloned a few years ago by European researchers. This act was broadcasted widely in the media and sooner or later the sensitive subject of whether or not a human cloning would become part of the near future’s technology has created a moral controversy. I personally believe that human cloning in an unethical practice that should be avoided at all cost.
Human cloning is currently illegal in the United States, along with the stem cell research that was considered by some to be a moral alternative to organ harvesting. These acts have been said to be un-Christian and therefore have been pushed aside. The objections to this type of cloning are the fact that it undermines human dignity and personal identity, it uses people as objects and it is definitely unnatural. It is also very dangerous because we run the risk of releasing and allowing this in a chaotic society who might decide produce a race of Adolf Hitlers.
The purpose behind the creation of human cloning is insignificant when we understand the opposing view. A newly formed family who wants to make the perfect baby by making a living insurance policy against any unseen disease or childhood accident is not reason enough. Those matters are not up to us but should be allowed to take its natural course. Lets take a present example: Global Warming. It is easy enough to say that we are dealing with this disaster because we have decided to alter and interfere with many of Earth’s natural ways and resources.
Even though, we want to help people who are not fortunate enough as ones who are graced with health, there is a limit to how far we can push our boundaries for the benefit of others. If human cloning were to succeed as an uprising technology then it is crystal clear that it will hold the same mentality as many other controversial or important issues in the world. Basically it will just become another action that does not measure the consequences. Have we even questioned what kind of de-formalities can be created based on human cloning? Just like we ventured on to the unknown territories of the wilderness and thought of it as an advances we were afterwards faced with the spreading of deadly diseases. If we as humans cannot learn from one example and continue to repeat history through different circumstances then we are without question doomed to catastrophe. Instead of being destructive, lets shine a light of questions toward the results of our actions and from their gather what is right.
