Ye, 47, and his wife Bianca Censori, 30, certainly know how to put on an entrance and exit.
On Feb. 2, the 67th Annual Grammys Awards was held at the Crypto.com Arena; the couple turned heads and sparked conversations with their bold fashion statements and brief appearance.
As cameras flashed, Censori stepped onto the red carpet draped in an oversized long black fur coat. The real shocker came moments later when she shed the coat to reveal a sheer, see-through dress, leaving “little to the imagination,” according to E! News.
Ye, ever the minimalist, complemented her look by donning an all-black ensemble, exuding his signature stoic demeanor.
Their time at the Grammys was as brief as it was memorable. After their red carpet appearance, the couple didn’t stick around for the ceremony. Reports swirled that they were escorted out due to their uninvited status.
However, Raj Kapoor, the Grammys’ executive producer, clarified that there is a dress code that must be followed for everyone performing on the show: “Obviously there is a dress code for anybody actually performing on the show that we have to adhere to standards and practices. But as far as people attending and nominees attending, that would be something the [Recording] Academy [presents the Grammys] would have to answer.”
“From what I understand, they were there for the red carpet,” said Kapoor to People.
Kapoor confirmed that Ye did not have a seat reserved: “If they were invited guests because we [would] know everybody who’s seated at the VIP tables that we have in front. We know each person who’s coming because every table is numbered.”
Following the event, Ye took to social media to address the “tea” surrounding their appearance. He proudly declared Censori as the “most Googled person on the planet,” highlighting the massive attention she garnered post-Grammys, reported the HuffPost.
This statement left others angry, upset, and still shocked about their appearance at the awards.
Censori continued her streak of bold fashion at the Grammys after-party. She stepped out in another revealing ensemble, a black sheer thong bodysuit. According to Page Six, Ye announced before that this will be a part of his upcoming Yzy women’s collection.
There were differing opinions about the couple’s Grammys appearance.
While some admirers critiqued the style as an unneeded attention-grabber, others applauded Censori for embracing confidence and pushing the boundaries of fashion. The argument went beyond the realm of fashion, with many people wondering if Censori is completely in charge of her brave persona or if Ye’s influence is dictating her dress choices.
Although the true motivation for their fashion statement is unknown to us, it is undeniable that people are speculating.
In the end, everyone was discussing Ye and Censori, regardless of whether they were praising or criticizing them. And in the entertainment industry, isn’t that the ultimate goal?
Ye is still highly successful at making headlines and holding the attention of the public, as evidenced by their brief but powerful Grammys attendance.
According to TMZ, If Ye’s claim that “we beat the Grammys” is any indication, this was all part of the plan — and once again, he got exactly what he wanted.
