A shooting near Armature Works left four people injured on April 9 at 4:08 pm.
The shooting occurred at the 1900 block of North Ola Avenue. WFLA reported that the restaurant Ulele closed down for the rest of the day, according to a Facebook post the restaurant made.
According to 10 Tampa Bay, the police reported that the incident was not an active shooter situation. Their webcam was also able to capture the person injured being treated by civilians before first responders arrived.
A member on the Ring community app posted that her husband was in lockdown in Sprouts. Other Ring members commented that they saw people running from the scene and that someone’s daughter was there and was able to leave safely. Other members commented about how traffic was rerouted in the surrounding area (post made April 9, 4:10 p.m.).
No arrests have been made, and the area remains closed to the public as police investigate. According to a statement on 10 Tampa Bay, a witness said the suspect fled.
“‘Disturbance’ between two groups quickly erupted into gunfire near the popular spot near downtown Tampa,” said Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw in an interview with Fox 13.
Three out of the four people injured were shot, and none sustained life-threatening injuries. There is still no information on how the other person was wounded. One of the victims was a pregnant woman who was shot in the leg during an office meeting.
A few witnesses had video footage of the incident that was handed over to the Tampa Police Department. These videos have helped the TPD develop a lead for the suspect.
The TPD, FBI, AF, T, and the state attorney’s office are all involved in this investigation. The officers are encouraging anyone who might have information about video footage shooting to turn it in to the department.
Sky10 also captured a video of a car on fire just a couple of blocks away from the shooting, but there is no evidence to suggest that the two incidents are related.
