US News & World Ranks UT in the top tier

On Sept. 10 UT announced that the university has been ranked by U.S. News & World Report in its top tier of the category Regional Universities South in its Best Colleges 2019 Guidebook.

UT ranked 20 out of 148 schools in the Regional Universities South category. There were five other categories that UT was ranked in.

UT was 14 in Best Colleges for Veterans, 35 in Best Value Schools, 19 in Most Innovative Schools, 20 in A+ Schools for B Students and eight in Most International Students.

In “Best Colleges for Veterans,” UT has been named a military friendly university by Victoria Media and Military Advanced Education. Ut has a generous transfer credit policy for military students, is a Yellow Ribbon Program school which allows recipients of the Post 9/11 GI Bill to benefit from full tuition coverage and has a VA-certifying official on-site.

The “Best Value Schools” ranking was based on three variables. These variables are the ratio of quality to price, the percentage of all undergraduates receiving need-based grants and average discounts.

The colleges and universities on the list most innovative schools were named by college presidents, provosts and admissions deans who make the most innovative improvements in curriculum, faculty, students, students, campus life, technology or facilities. Ranking eighth in International Students, UT had an international student population of 16 percent last academic school year.

Rollins College in Winter Park also ranked in Best Value Schools and Most Innovative schools. For Best Value Schools they ranked ahead of UT, coming in at 19. Rollins again ranked above UT in Most Innovative schools, at rank 11.

University of South Florida ranked in Best Colleges for Veterans and Best Value Schools. In Best Colleges for Veterans they placed behind UT, ranking 83. For Best Value Schools they come in behind UT again at 71.

Stetson University in DeLand appeared in three lists, Regional Universities in the South, Best Colleges for Veterans and Best Value Schools. For Regional Universities in the South they ranked fifth, coming in ahead of UT. Stetson came in ahead of UT again in Best colleges for Veterans, ranking third. They rounded out their lists ahead of UT in Best Value Schools at rank 17.
