During the month of September, there will be various student events occuring on campus at the University of Tampa.

On Friday, Sept. 14 from 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. the Office of Career Services will put on “Acing the Interview.” This event will cover how to respond to job interview questions with perfect answers. The objectives are to learn how to sell yourself to your potential employer and showcase your skills.

Every Friday from noon – 1 p.m. “Lunch with the Dean of Students and Student Government President” is held in the Vaughn Center Cafeteria. The Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students, Dr. Stephanie Russell Krebs joins the Student Government President, James Meslener, to have lunch and uses the opportunity to meet students and hear about their concerns on campus.

The 2018 fall Greek life recruitment occurs this month as well. Rush week for the seven UT sororities will take place Thursday, Sept. 13 – Monday, Sept. 17 and the recruitment for the ten UT fraternities will be from Sunday, Sept. 16 – Saturday, Sept. 22.

Student productions has multiple events planned for the month of September. On Sept. 19, they will be showing Love, Simon, a gay teen romance, in Reeves Theatre on the second floor of Vaughn at 7 p.m. On Sept. 21, fun activities, free food and UT apparel will be provided during their “FALLing for UT” event in the Vaughn Courtyard from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. On Sept. 25, Deej! a documentary about a young non-english speaking man’s dreams, will be screening in Reeves Theatre at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a presentation by producer and writer DJ Savarese.

A few finance and accounting events are also scheduled. “Coffee and Careers” will be held on Monday, Sept. 24 from 8:30 a.m. – noon. Students can join Chelsea Spenceley, the Director of Recruiting at Levin Financial Group, for a cup of coffee and to hear about her knowledge and experiences about navigating a career path. On Wednesday, Sept. 26, from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. the Accounting and Finance Fair will take place in the Vaughn Center 9th floor. Students are invited to meet with employers from various accounting and finance firms about full time jobs.

The AT HAND Artist Panel will be featured at UT on Friday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. in the Scarfone/Hartley Gallery. The event will include a combined virtual studio visit and onsite artist talk with Ryan Sarah Murphy, Damien Hoar de Galvan and Cynthia Mason. The Artist Panel will also be included in Tampa’s Fourth Friday. Guests can stop at the gallery to see the exhibit and pick up a free wristband to explore other free exhibits and events around Downtown Tampa.
