“What was most shocking to me was the size of the event,” said freshman Carly Rubin, about this past weekend’s Electric Daisy Carnival in Orlando, Florida. EDC Orlando is a two-day music festival that brought in 65,000 attendees this year. This festival brings in EDM artists such as Kaskade, Bassnectar and Carnage. With three mind-blowing stages, five extraordinary carnival rides, and endless food and drink stands, it is no wonder that Electric Daisy Carnival requires about 24 days in order to be completely set up. “EDC 2015 was the first rave I’ve attended and I was surprised to see how unique everybody’s outfits were and how much time people put into making posters and signs,” said Carly Rubin.Most attendees express their devotion by carrying around creative posters, flags, props, etc. At this year’s EDC, a woman held a hand-made Donald Trump poster featuring the rainbow mouth and fish-eye Snapchat effect. Beginning at 1 p.m. and ending at midnight, the festival becomes more crowded and intense as the hours go by. The music seems to grow louder, the crowds become more packed and the lights and effects seem to triple. For those of you who have never been, it is a definite recommendation for all EDM lovers.
