Between Tebowing (and the new superior Bradying, courtesy of the Superbowl) and the rampant growth of Insanity Wolf and Success Kid over the last few years, memes have become an all too common thing online.
A meme is any sort of idea in picture or word form that spreads virally through repeated use. In the case of memes like Tebowing or Insanity Wolf, consistent referencing and meme-creation online is the main cause for their popularity. It’s not unusual for the thing itself to become a reference, such as, “Dude, I’m totally the Foul Bachelor Frog right now.”
It’s gotten to the point where half of the Facebook news feed nowadays is people posting meme-pictures as their status update or sharing them on their friends’ walls. Whole schools have dedicated Facebook pages to memes centered on their specific college.
And we here at The Minaret think UT should jump on the meme bandwagon. So here are a collection of original memes, Minaret approved, that any student of our school can appreciate.
