Confidence: The Ultimate Accessory For Life

Browsing through the pages of glossy beauty magazines, your self esteem is lowered with every skinny, muscled and photo-shopped model you see. You begin making comparisons: what makes them so unique? I’m good looking too and I can get abs just like those, you think to yourself. I’ll do something about it: diet, exercise, change my wardrobe…. The resolutions continue until your self esteem picks up again.

How many people have been through the same cycle with every beauty or sport magazine they glanced at?

The number will astonish you.

Many people claim that looks are important; I have no dispute with that, but there is a direct correlation between looks and confidence. The people with the looks have the confidence and that’s why they can pull off walking around like they own the world and other people follow after them.
Now compare this to the unconventionally hot guy who charms the ladies nonetheless or the simple girl who is sociable and popular. What stands out?

Their confidence, how they carry themselves.

Some people call it “swag” but to me, it’s simply confidence.

You may be one of those so-called drop-dead gorgeous girls or the guy with attention-grabbing abs, but the secret to being that appealing is confidence. Looks and body types are beyond your control, but your attitude and personality are not and that’s what makes someone charming and charismatic. Confidence is a little attribute that can do amazing things for you. It’s the “quicker picker-upper” for your self esteem.

In almost all auditions, interviews or contests, it’s the person who has a lot of confidence who grabs people’s attention. It’s the one thing that remains constant when other fashion trends change and technology brings in new cool electronic devices that can update quicker than you keep with them.
Perspectives on what’s “in” or “out” are varied and bound to change with location, time and crowd. A person will see how confident you are from a mile away; you need not utter a word.

In life, there’s winning, losing and being confident, because confidence lies in the demeanor of a person not the outcome. There is so much negativity and unhealthy competition everywhere around us; it’s an unneeded reason to be bitter, to be sad and to give up. It drains all of the energy we project and therefore affects the energy we receive. There is a huge emphasis on the outcome of everything we try to do, you’re either a winner or a loser, but this need not be.

That’s the special about being confident. It is beyond describing yourself according to the outcome of your endeavors, it is being happy for the winner despite your loss. It’s knowing you are as capable as your were before and that you will still be capable despite what happens. Below is quote that describes confidence in the best way possible.

“People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.”

    I completely concur.

  3. Very true. In fact the one point I would add is the very beautiful, especially women, are the least secure within themselves as they have so much of an illusion to protect and uphold.

There is a confidence that comes from knowing that deep down you are OK. Meaning deep down you accept yourself as you are. Everyone can try and improve but while doing so give yourself a break for being you. Human beings are everything at some stage and inner peace and self-acceptance and self-love comes from knowing that it is not about being perfect but being OK with being imperfect. We all make mistakes, struggle, don’t understand, say something offensive, ignore someone etc. The people who have self-confidence and self-esteem are the ones who accept that this will happen sometimes and be kind to themselves.
