Whether you’re still living off your glory days from high school or you just want to have fun, intramural sports are the place for you.
Make a team with kids from your floor, fraternity or sorority, club or just your good friends. Don’t worry, if you can’t figure that out you can still sign up as a free agent and be added to a random team.
The first set of intramural sports this semester include flag football, co-ed sand volleyball and indoor soccer.
Last season the Patroose Crew, 7th Floor Crew and Smoke BBQ & Grill were the only undefeated flag football teams in the regular season at 4-0.
In the women’s two-team league, the Whoop Whoops (3-0) obliterated the Spartan Battalion (0-3) by a combined score of 88-0.
Soccer also had three undefeated men’s teams (Latinos F.C., F.C. Carlo Costly, J.P. Empire) and one women’s team (Ball Busters) during the regular season. Latinos F.C. led the regular season with a 14.6 goals per game differential.
There were four undefeated teams in Co-ed Sand Volleyball. We Love Sets, Lightning Spikes and Los Boriquizis went 3-0, while Team Kamehameha was 4-0 during the regular season.
I suggest that everyone sign up for at least one sport this semester. If you win, you have bragging rights for a year and usually get a free shirt.
If you lose, so be it, there’s always next year; or, you can just complain about the refs like everyone else does. Just kidding, they really do a great job.
Good luck to everyone and please get creative; last year lacked good team names.
