With a roar of thunder from down under, the Australia-based rock band known as Airbourne has released their debut album titled Runnin’ Wild.
By just listening to Airbourne’s new album it becomes clear that this band is designed to be a modern-day AC/DC.
However, the last thing that Airbourne can be accused of is being a boring or dull copy cat band. Lead singer and guitarist Joel O’Keeffe and the rest of his crew takes rock and roll to a whole new level. This is not the typical, modern-day rock and roll that music lovers are used to in any way. Airbourne delivers straight-up, in your face rock music that seems to have no boundaries.
Airbourne has already started to make an impact here in the United States as well as the United Kingdom. In fact, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) used one of the band’s most powerful tracks, “Stand Up for Rock n’ Roll” as its theme song for its most recent pay-per view event, the Royal Rumble. Some of the other faster-paced songs include tracks such as “Girls in Black” and “Let’s Ride.”
Now, I’ll admit that sometimes this kind of heavy duty rock and roll can be a little bit too much.
The songs “Blackjack” and “Hellfire” demonstrate this point. I love heavy rock and roll as much as the next person, but these two songs in particular are just a little bit too much and are not very entertaining to listen to.
However, this album is not entirely fast-paced and out of control. For example, Airbourne’s first single, “Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast” is a very energetic and slower-paced song.
Personally, I recommend that all music lovers check out this particular song before judging this band.
This is the kind of song that makes you want to raise your fist and just rock out. Some other slightly slower songs to check out on the album include “Fat City” and “Diamond in the Rough.”
Overall, Runnin’ Wild is a very powerful and uplifting album that is sure to make any true fan of rock and roll happy. If you’re a fan of AC/DC, or just a fan of some serious smash-mouth rock and roll, then this is the band for you. From one rock fan to all you other rock fans, go and pick up this great album and, just as the song says, stand up for rock n’ roll!
