Sophomore Arrested for Intent to Sell Marijuana

Tampa Police Department made their third drug arrest in seven days late in September at the University of Tampa.

UT sophomore Brandon Chatkin was arrested at Stadium Center shortly after 3 a.m. on Sept. 28 for three felony possession of marijuana charges, including intent to distribute. He was also picked up on a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Chatkin was bailed out on $12,000 bond later that morning.

Bob Ruday, Dean of Students, didn’t comment on this particular case, but said, “It is unfortunate that some students endanger their health and welfare with illegal drugs. I urge all students to make the decision to choose healthy choices in their lifestyles.”
