Even when she was a little girl living in Falmouth, Mass., she wanted to make a difference in the world. While most children dream of becoming veterinarians, astronauts, firemen and cowboys when they grow up, Katrina Vidal dreamed of doing “big things” and “saving the world.”
“I’ve always felt compassionate towards people and loved helping and trying to make a difference,” Vidal says.
However, living in a small town in the Northeast limited her world-saving abilities. She helped out as much as she could in high school, knowing that one day her impact would be felt at a higher level. Most of her volunteer work in high school focused around children – interning at an elementary school, teaching in a preschool and working at day care to name a few.
