TAMPA, Fla. — One of the most highly anticipated weeks is coming up for the UTampa’s Fraternities and Sororities: Greek Week. This year’s Greek Week will be held from Feb. 16–22 and will include the following events starting on the 16th:

The FSL community has added a new sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha, and a new fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, to campus.

Zeta Tau Alpha member Olivia Bottcher reflected on how she felt about being able to compete in Greek Week.

“I am really excited; I have watched for the past two years, and it seems like a fun way to get involved, especially in a new sorority,” she exclaimed.

Zeta Tau Alpha welcomed over 170 members in the Fall semester.

“I joined Zeta to be a part of something more on campus,” said Bottcher. “I wanted to meet new people, and philanthropy means a lot to me.”

Zeta Tau Alpha’s philanthropy is breast cancer awareness and education. More information can be found on their website

Zeta Tau Alpha is paired up with FIJI and AKA as the “Cheetah Girls.” FIJI has previously won Greek Week Variety Show (GVS) and Greek Week in 2020, 2022 and 2023. They look forward to continuing their success this year.

The Greek Week Show is the last event for the sororities and fraternities. It includes an 8-minute dance between all the teams. This year it will be hosted in the Martinez Gym and will be able to hold up to 2,500 people including friends, families, and students. It was previously held in Falk Theatre, which was only able to hold around 950 people. Two thousand tickets will be available for students, and 500 will be for family and friends.

Tickets for the GVS will be available Feb. 10 on InvolveUT. Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for family and friends. The doors open at 4:15 p.m. and the show starts at 5 p.m.

The philanthropy for this year’s Greek Week is Make-a-Wish Southern Florida. They currently serve children and families in 22 Florida counties in Southeast and Southwest Florida, the Tampa Bay and Suncoast regions, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The University of Tampa community is looking to grant as many wishes as possible this Greek Week. It is an online fundraising event, so be sure to look out for the link to donate!
