The Spartan Club is where students can hang out with friends, eat, and play games. It was recently renovated at The University of Tampa (UT) this summer. It will reopen on Wednesday, Aug. 28 to introduce many new things to the campus, including a partnership with Grubhub.
When students walk through the doors of the Spartan Club on the second floor, they are struck by several changes: all-new furniture, better lighting, and a “more open” design that facilitates communication. These ideas were carried forward through the design and remodeling of food services. On the first floor, where all the dining happens, they introduced new digital menu boards and kiosks to help students pick and place what they want.
More importantly, all of that is tied up with the partnership between UT Dining and Grubhub. The new feature brings a level of convenience that was previously unheard of. Today’s students can select a meal directly in the Grubhub app from a selection offered at the Club. They can then pay for their order in the app and pick it up at an agreed time. If it is just a snack between classes or a meal while on a study break, students can order in advance, avoid lines, and pick up their food in the Club at the new designated Grubhub pickup station. This increases convenience and ease.
Like in the past, the Spartan Club remains the hive of social activity. This area has remained a focal point on campus, where students can gather with their peers and relax with friends. New seating options have been introduced: comfortable couches, high tables for discussions with mates, and individual study pods. These additions enrich the experience by providing several comfortable settings and ways in which students can enjoy their meals among their peers while furthering community and belonging.
The top feature of the new and improved Spartan Club is an added all-new set of games and entertainment. The layout will be divided between gaming sections, study sections, and pool tables. Multiple study sections allow you to sit in them and eat your food. There will be so many things for students to do in these sections. Three TVs with HDMI could be connected to the game areas. You can rent out pool balls and cues and play a round at any of the three pool tables. The Spartan Club offers a lot of exciting things.
The Spartan Club was renovated as a part of a vision for more excellent campus life. Community, convenience, and well-being were the ideals they sought to fulfill. It means the Spartan Club is more than a social space where students dine, play, or hang out. That is not to mention the Grubhub gaming area integrations. Whether on the go in between classes, during the long haul during a study session, or as a place to challenge a friend in chess, it is the go-to place on campus. It has turned an old space into a multipurpose one, becoming the favorite spot for students across campus and creating interest and thrill.
