The Black Eyed Peas rocked the Pepsi Max halftime show of Super Bowl XLV in the Cowboys Stadium at Arlington, Texas.
Singer Fergie promised People Magazine that the show would be “a party in the middle of the game.”
She went on to say, “Whether your team is winning or losing, we want to make you have a good time. That’s our goal.”
With the Packers in the lead 21-10, The 10-minute Tron-themed show opened as the six-time Grammy award-winning group descended onto stage singing their number one song from summer of 2009, “I Gotta Feeling.”
Fergie’s first lines were lost because of technical difficulty, but the group had no trouble cultivating the energy of their audience.
They were surrounded by hundreds of dancers in white. All four members wore light-up Swarovski crystal-encrusted black leather costumes.
The white costumes of the dancers were lit with green LED lights as they created formations during “Boom Boom Pow” from the album, The E.N.D.
After this, Slash rose from the stage in clouds of smoke playing Guns ‘N Roses’ “Sweet Child of Mine.” Fergie sang alongside him while fans waved glow sticks in the background.
As a drum line and trumpet players swayed in the background, the group went into an energetic performance of “Pump It,” followed by “Let’s Get it Started,” both from their 2005 album, Monkey Business.
Opening with last year’s number one single, “OMG,” was will.i.am, as Usher was lowered down onto the stage wearing a full white costume with Swarovski crystal collar. The highlight of Usher’s performance was when he jumped over will.i.am and landed in a split.
The stage was transformed to spell out “LOVE” in red lights as the group broke into the 2003 hit, “Where is the Love.” The LED suits of the dancers turned red as they formed two giant hearts on either side of the stage.
The show hit its climax as the Black Eyed Peas went into their newest hit, “The Time,” from their album The Beginning.
The show closed with a final chorus of “I Gotta Feeling” as fireworks went off in the background.
The group has sold 27 million albums worldwide and 20 million singles.

tone deaf* lol
not only was the performance marred by technical difficult, but fergie was downright atrocious. her voice was hoarse and rough, loud and lacking melody.
i’ve heard better sounds come from my butt at night.
they were good back in 98-00 but now, 10 years later, they just aren’t a good “band” anymore. the show was god awful, everyone agrees.
you have to be done teaf not to mention it, the lack of subjectivity in this article is sickening – it’s like a robot typed a manuscript.
