Celebrating the life of three University of Tampa students that have died over the past year, WUTT, UT’s student radio station will be hosting Kingfest II, a free concert, on Friday in the Vaughn Courtyard.
The first Kingfest was held in honor of William King, a former WUTT staff member, who was killed while riding his motorcycle last April.
This time, Kingfest II will not only honor King but also Ryan McCall and Eric Nikoletti. McCall was killed last August while walking back home along North Boulevard. Nicoletti was struck by a car while crossing Kennedy Boulevard near North Boulevard.
The free concert will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. will include all local performers including Nathan Curry of Silent Trio, the band Thrown Alive and entertainer/rapper Acafool.
WUTT broadcasts on the UT campus on AM 1080, campus cable access channel 95 and streaming audio at wutt.ut.edu.
I think this article is highly offensive considering it completely ignores the death of freshman Angela Petty in December. The sisters of Alpha Chi Omega, the sorority Angela was a part of has worked all year to raise awareness of her death and Asthma related illnesses, and this article completely throws out their efforts. I will be emailing the Editor in Chief about this.
