There is a secret success at the University of Tampa that is not named the school of business, the nursing program or any other of the usual suspects.
It is a field that is not an official major but probably should be considered to become one as students are soaring beyond the usual textbook rhetoric by going out into the real world and landing pretty impressive jobs.
At UT, journalism studies is becoming the source that has catapulted several students into the beginning of their post UT careers. These students (many working for your favorite university newspaper publication) have reported for well-known newspapers and through great internship opportunities.
Junior Peter Arrabal (our faithful Sports editor in said publication) has served as a correspondent for the St. Petersburg Times since last April. At age 20, he has covered baseball, football, softball, basketball and various other sports for the a paper considered to have the 10th best sports section in the country.
