Oh, five miles an hour, not 50? My bad! — At 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 27, UT Security responded to a vehicle accident in the West Parking Garage. Officers met with both parties and information was exchanged for insurance purposes. No wonder they call it Smiley Hall.
UT Prepares for Parent Weekend
The University of Tampa will host its annual Family Weekend Friday, Oct. 5 and Saturday, Oct. 6 this year. The event will showcase the campus community and surrounding areas through an array of events and programs for the whole family. Featured events include live music and food celebrating Tampa’s cultural heritage, the annual UT golf tournament, a lunch cruise on Tampa Bay’s premier dining yacht, women’s volleyball games and even a climb to the top of Plant Hall’s minarets.
United Connects UT and Tampa Christians
United is a new series of events on campus this year. Taking place once a month, United connects all the Christian clubs on campus with local churches in an hour long worship service. The worship, led by live bands, is very laid back and casual. United’s first event Last Friday had close to 200 attendees despite a last minute venue change from the Vaughn Courtyard to the Martinez Sports Center.
UT Professors Remember Former Colleague Lost to Cancer
The University of Tampa recently suffered the loss of former Professor Alan Weimer. On Sept. 1, Professor Weimer passed away at age 55 after a battle with cancer. “He really fought the good fight,” says Professor Rustogi, a close friend and colleauge of Weimer.
