From the way that the box looks, ‘WarioWare: Smooth Moves’ seems like another Nintendo game aimed toward children. That pre-judgment was dead wrong. This is the best party game available for the Wii right now.
The graphics in ‘WarioWare’ are nothing that will impress anybody these days. This isn’t the type of game that was made to show off the graphic capabilities of the Wii but to show a fragment of how much fun there can be with the controls.
The sounds in this game are great. Some sounds (such as: cats meowing, dogs barking, bink’s and boing’s) may become annoying. They tend to enhance the ridiculous experience involved in the game-play.
The way that the game is set up is you go to different spots in the town and play all the different mini- games that come up at each spot. There are multiple positions in which you hold the Wii remote when you play the mini games. Some positions have you looking like a goofball, and if you are with friends, it enriches the experience. When the new positions are introduced, a soothing voice appears and gives the funniest descriptions for the way you hold the remote.
The mini-games are all quick and easy to learn. There are no tutorials for the games, but the description for the remote position gives away most of what you need to do. They also have a very random and wacky sense of humor to them. It may be looked down upon by a lot of people. Personally, it was right down my alley. There are different levels of difficulty for each of the categories which present more games. The number of games that you can play and unlock seems to be endless. The only problem with them is that they don’t last more than ten seconds, except the boss stages.
The multiplayer in ‘WarioWare’ can only be unlocked after you play through the single player mode. That can be quite a nuisance when you rent the game from Blockbuster, and the box doesn’t come with a manual. This is also a great game for someone that has just bought a Wii and needs a game because it only requires one remote to play everything. The multiplayer can get repetitive, but there are so many different mini-games that it doesn’t matter.
The replay value is outstanding. Since the games are short and come one right after the other, you will be able to play the single player mode over and over again. When going through the whole game once (which should only take a little over an hour) seems like the end of the game, it is only the end of the story. The levels are able to be replayed and will unlock new mini-games to play on multiplayer. Trust me you will want to play them over again.
The only flaw with this game is that is feels as though there could be more than what is presented. There were multiple suggestions that I thought about that could make this game more appealing, but I don’t make games, I play them.
‘WarioWare: Smooth Moves’ lives up to the hype that was laid upon it. I am looking forward to unlocking all of the mini-games that this game has to offer. There are a lot of unique and funny things in this party game. Bottom Line: ‘WarioWare: Smooth Moves’ for the Wii:10/10.
