The Mac-Gray and Web Smart Card Center was found broken into on Tuesday, Feb. 20 when Card Center Maintenance personnel arrived.
UT security was notified, and they proceeded to notify Tampa Police Department. The UT security officer at the scene of the crime said that the incident was under investigation and a report will be made.
He also said that the machine would be operational before the day ends.
Two Tampa Police Officers arrived on the scene.
“The laundry card machine was broken into. It is currently under investigation. No suspects or leads have been found,” TPD Officer Kirk commented as he filled out a crime report.
A crime scene unit arrived to brush for fingerprints.
When the Smart Card Center Service Man was asked about the incident, he refused to comment because he was not with the University.
