TAMPA, Fla. — Ghada Maghrebi is the operations construction manager at the Florida Department of Transportation and was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) on Feb. 14, 2025, according to court documents. This is one of multiple reports on her behalf, but this case status remains open.
There have been multiple complaints from neighbors and public records from the Tampa PD show heavy police presence at her address on Jetton Ave.
Miguel Mora is the next-door neighbor to Maghrebi, and he said in a statement, “I am reaching out to bring attention to an ongoing public safety issue.”
Mora said he moved into his home in November and has been having issues with Maghrebi since.
He sent a letter to her about the noise complaints and had five other neighbors sign it. Mora said the noise stopped for a few days and then started up again.
Since Feb. 22, she has been allegedly heavily drinking and playing loud music frequently, disturbing the neighborhood.
“The responding officer was super helpful, and he suggested I put cameras up to get a better view of the fence and suggested talking to the condos next door if they will put cameras up too,” said Mora.
He said after another incident when police left her home, she spent a period of time swearing and yelling at him.
Mora installed the cameras like the police officer suggested, and Maghrebi retaliated. One of Maghrebi’s tenants was seen on the cameras trying to remove them off his fence, and another person threw trash in his yard on a different night.
Public records show that Maghrebi has had past court appearances for history of domestic violence. The Tampa PD reports have shown multiple calls and police presence at Jetton Ave for domestic, battery and disorderly intoxication disputes on record.
On March 3, Tampa police found Maghrebi unconscious in her yard with music blasting. Mora provided video footage of the incident where police struggled to awaken her.
There have been over 100 reports documented under Jetton Ave. from Jan. 1, 2000 to March 14, 2025, according to the Tampa PD records.
The most recent call for domestic dispute was on Jan. 4, 2025 and from Feb. 22 to March 9, there are multiple disturbances reported.
“The police were there a few days ago around 3 a.m. conducting a wellness check on her,” said Mora.
Mora reached out to code enforcement about her property, neighborhood enhancement, and The University of Tampa’s International Exchange Student Program after he said he noticed a student has been living there.
The University of Tampa’s International Exchange Student Program said in a statement that there has been no complaints or concerns prior to March 4, when Mora emailed them.
UTampa said undergraduate exchange students are encouraged to apply for on-campus housing, but graduate exchange students are required to find off-campus housing.
“The international programs office provides all exhange students with information on recommended off-campus student residence complexes in the area, however it is up to the students to select their desired location,” said the exchange student program.
An anonymous neighbor said they feel bad for Mora because they get to move back home in April, but Mora would not be since he owns his property.
“Miguel has done everything the right way to try and solve this problem,” said the anonymous neighbor.
The anonymous neighbor said they have seen police cars there and the noise as well, but did not want to be on record because they said they don’t know what Maghrebi is capable of.
The anonymous neighbor said they believe they saw Margrebi dancing as if she was “out of it” and was not aware of where she was.
“The fact that she is a public official, I don’t want that person making decisions about transportation in our city if she is who I saw acting like that at night and has a child making those decisions,” the neighbor said.
Maghrebi has an arraignment in court for the DUI on April, 1 in Tampa.
