However, by Dec. 2022, the Crown Prosecution Service dismissed all charges, citing insufficient evidence and confirming that the case lacked merit for prosecution. Despite being legally exonerated, the experience left a profound impact on O’Connor, both personally and professionally.
Following the resolution of his case, O’Connor took an extended break from the spotlight. During this time, he focused on his mental health and personal well-being, marking a noticeable gap in his musical and public presence. Fans eagerly awaited his return, and the anticipation for new music only grew during his absence.
Fast forward to Sept. 2024, Rex Orange County made a powerful comeback with his fifth studio album, The Alexander Technique. To promote The Alexander Technique, O’Connor embarked on “FINALLY: A Theatre Tour,” opting for smaller, more intimate venues.
