Tropical Storm Francine set to be category 2 hurricane when it hits landfall

The disturbance off the coast of Mexico is getting better organized. 

According to The National Hurricane Center (NHC), the disturbance is named Tropical Storm Francine and will become a category 2 hurricane. 

The current path is showing that it will hit Louisiana on Wednesday. 

It is expected to hit in the early morning and the NHC is urging residents to finish preparations by Tuesday. 

A storm surge warning is in effect for the upper Texas and Louisiana coast. 

There is a hurricane warning in effect for southern Louisiana. 

There is expected flash flooding till Friday for the areas in the path of the storm.

The Weather Channel has announced that Francine is offically a category 1 hurricane.

It is moving North East at 10 mph.

They said the warm waters are intensifying this storm.

The storm surge can be between 5 to 10 inches on the coast of Louisiana.
