Spring Break options – it’s never too early to plan!

By Natalie Soldatova

It has been a few days since we all got back to campus, but before we all know it, time will fly by, and we will be on Spring Break. Maybe you haven’t thought about how you would want to spend your Spring Break yet, but it is never too early to plan!

Spring Break is known to be a busy time of the year, not just for students but also for families. I have already overheard some people on campus talking about planning their trips, and we still have a month left. However, booking your vacation early is beneficial if you plan on traveling. Planning everything will require more time and effort, especially if you want to travel with your friends. Finding a place to stay early enough will give you more chances, as everything can sell out fast. Sometimes, when you get your flight ticket early and at the right time, you can also get it cheaper.

Even though planning might be a little stressful, especially in a group, the fun part is planning how you want to spend your spring break. Depending on the location you want to go, you want to spend days on the beach, explore new cities, go to amusement parks, try out a new hobby or adventure, visit your family, or just enjoy your time off and relax with a book.

Since we attend school in Florida, students usually don’t have to travel elsewhere to enjoy the warm weather or the beach. However, there are many options you can choose from when deciding how to spend your Spring Break, whether in Florida or not.

Regarding vacation time spent on the beach, some popular destinations for students are Miami, Cancun, Punta Cana, Florida Keys, and Daytona Beach.

If you want to try new things or explore, the well-known Strawberry Festival will happen from February 29 to March 10 in Plant City, Florida. You can also try cooking classes, see a film in a movie theater, go on a road trip, or attend a fitness class.

Also, if you plan on staying in Tampa, love music, and want to have fun dancing, Pitbull will be in Amalie Arena on his Trilogy Tour with Enrique Iglesias and Ricky Martin on March 10th.

The options are endless; now is the right time to start planning. When we are on Spring Break, we will also be halfway through the spring semester so we will appreciate some time off. You can also take this time as a chance to start a new hobby and do what you normally have no time for.

However you decide to spend your Spring Break, it is important to remember that everyone wants to spend their break differently. You don’t have to feel like you are missing out if you are not going anywhere and prefer to stay home. Sometimes, you may want to go and explore different places with friends, or you may want to recharge on the beach.
