Drake, also known as “Champagne Papi,” performed songs from his newest album, “For All the Dogs Scary Hours Edition,” while also adding some throwbacks from his 2017 “More Life” album. Together, J. Cole and Drake performed their hit song, “First Person Shooter.”

“I have been a Drake fan since 2010, and this was the first time I could see him in person,” said Zoe Heindlen, a concert attendee. “I drove from Boca Raton to Tampa for the day just to see him perform, and I’m so happy I made the last-minute decision.”

Due to popular demand, Drake added the second show since he has not played in Tampa since his 2016 “The Summer Sixteen Tour.” As of Feb. 2, ticket prices started at $218.00 for seats in the 300 and went up to $16,299 for row 4.

Concertgoers began lining up at 8 a.m. on show day Friday and Sunday. Fans were encouraged to line up at 5 p.m. For General Admission in numerical order for the two-hour concert.

“I grabbed my wristband at 10 a.m. and planned to come back around 6 p.m. to line up for the concert,” said Vinny Palmer, a UT concert attendee. “I’ve been to many concerts in my lifetime, and this one was the craziest one I have ever been to.”

Tickets went on sale Friday, Nov. 17, at 11 a.m. and continued to sell until the concert began. A Cash App Card presale started at 11 a.m. on Wednesday for those with Cash App cards.

As soon as Drake wraps up his performance in Tampa, he will have fifteen more performances all around the country, from Ohio to Kentucky.

I’ve been to many Drake shows, including one from his last tour,” said Thalia Shea, a long-time Drake fan. He’s playing in my hometown of Buffalo, NY, on February 27, and I’m considering buying a ticket back home just to see him again.”
