If you’re a football fan or just keep up with the news, you know that Taylor Swift is rumored to be dating Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce. The pair has been making headlines since Kelce shared that he brought a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it to see Swift perform at Arrowhead Stadium.
Swift showed up to the Chiefs game against the Chicago Bears, and ever since then, relationship rumors have been flying left and right. Everywhere you look, there’s a new post or article on the rumored relationship.
The speculation caused a 400% increase in sales of Travis Kelce’s merch, which is absolutely insane. In addition to the fact that there was an increase of 2 million people in viewership once it was revealed that she was at the game. Her influence is insane.
Her attendance at the Chiefs game vs the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium drew as many viewers as the Super Bowl. The same game that she declined to do the halftime show for. If she agreed to perform at halftime, the fight for tickets would be insane.
After everything that happened with Swfities and Ticketmaster, from an outsider’s perspective, I would be terrified. As somebody who survived the Ticketmaster queue, I think I could do it for the Super Bowl, but I can’t imagine how expensive those tickets would be.
As iconic as Swift’s halftime show would be, I don’t see it happening anytime in the near future. However, in the words of Justin Bieber, never say never.
The cutest thing that has come out of the relationship so far, besides the moments shared between Swift and Mama Kelce, is the video of Travis looking up at the suite midgame. A lipreader on TikTok claims that when Kelce was looking up at the box, he said, “Wow. She’s really there”.
It has to be one of the cutest things that I have ever seen, especially from a celebrity couple. I’ve done my fair share of fangirling when it comes to celebrity relationships, and this is one of my favorites.
Travis and Taylor seem to genuinely care about each other and want what’s best for the other. Especially when considering how much respect he has for her desire for privacy.
Being one of the biggest pop stars in the world doesn’t come with a lot of privacy. There are paparazzi and fans everywhere you go, watching and reporting on your every move. He said that he was going to keep details private because she is a private person.
He even went as far as to call out the NFL, the league he plays for, and say that they were overdoing it with the coverage of Taylor at the games. Not every man would do that, but he has the respect for her to call them out.
The NFL also begged studios to play the commercial for her Eras Tour film that comes out next weekend. Between the commercials and the constant coverage of her at games, many have begun to speculate that their relationship is a PR stunt.
I see that argument, but I don’t think he would be hiding all these details, renting out restaurants, staying at her apartment, etc., for a PR Stunt. He’s not an actor, he’s not Joe Alwyn, he is a professional football player.
I love their relationship, I think they’re adorable, and I hope they stay together for a long time. For me, they’re End Game. Pun intended.
