Tom Brady, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback, and supermodel wife Gisele Bündchen have publicly announced their divorce.

Brady, beloved American Football quarterback, is often referred to as the G.O.A.T., an abbreviation for “greatest of all time,” gaining this nickname for his impressive football career. The first twenty seasons of Tom Brady’s career were spent playing for the New England Patriots before playing for the Buccaneers in 2020.

Bündchen, Brady’s former wife and brazilian fashion model, has been the highest paid model in the world since 2001.

In 2009, Brady and Bündchen tied the knot and have two children, Benjamin, 12, and Vivian, 9. Brady is also a father to 15-year-old son Jack with ex American actress Bridget Moynahan. Several reports of unrest between Brady and Bündchen have been circulating around since he made the decision to un-retire from the NFL. 

Rumors have speculated around that there was tension between them after he made his decision to focus on his career for another year. Bündchen wasn’t happy when Brady un-retired, causing tension between them.

People magazine has confirmed that Brady and Bündchen filed for divorce in Florida, as Brady is currently playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The settlement is worked out and the pair have been working on the terms. They also have agreed to joint custody of their two kids, including Jack, Tom’s son with former spouse, Bridget Moynahan.

According to several reports to TMZ, on Oct. 7, 2022, Gisele had made the threat to divorce Tom several times before their official separation; the reports including all the fights were over the same topic — Tom spending so much time on Football. 

“Tom Brady prioritizes his career but also shouldnt be penalized by his wife for doing what he loves. I feel like there is more behind the separation but the public doesn’t know,” said Ava Doreste, freshman.

Gisele has always been the one taking care of the kids. Tom had agreed he would retire this year to focus on their family, but then changed his mind.

“Gisele has been telling Tom for a while he needs to spend more time with the family and after he retired, she thought she was getting what she asked for. Once Tom decided to go back to the NFL, she was devastated. Gisele is very hurt,” said an Entertainment Tonight insider.

Gisele posted to her Instagram story amid the split that the pair have “grown apart” and will continue to co-parent. “My priority has always been and will continue to be our children whom I love with all my heart,” Gisele said. 

Tom also posted a statement to his Instagram Stories, saying that the decision to divorce is “painful and difficult.”

“The public should be left out of this. It is a personal matter and obviously will be hard on Gisele and Tom, they are real people too. The public should stop voicing their opinion on someone else’s relationship, famous or not,” said Ava Panza, freshman.
