Last Friday night, if you weren’t at this concert, you definitely knew at least one person who was. The Chainsmokers — the phenomenon that made waves in EDM and pop last year with hits like “Closer,” “Roses,” and “Paris” — played Amelie Arena.

The crowd was reminiscent of the pre-fire glory days of The Amphitheater in Ybor, with group members Andrew (Drew) Taggart and Alex Pall instructing the audience to jump. Taggart and Pall even showed off dance moves synchronized to the cartoon characters on display behind them on a massive LCD screen.

The Chainsmokers were opened by a forgettable DJ and a very memorable Kiiara, known for her hit “Gold.”
