Climbing to recognition is the scruffy-haired Irish actor Robert Sheehan, whose venture into U.S. territory has only begun. Robert was born in County Laois, Ireland. He is the youngest of two siblings. His stage-life includes: Oliver with a Twist, Song for a Raggy Boy and Cripple of Innishmaan. In Robert’s words, there is “nothing like good theatre.” Eventually he turned to on-screen roles and starred in the Red Riding trilogy, which inspired him to pursue a career in acting. He is known for his role as the obnoxious Nathan Young in Misfits, a British television series about young offenders who gain superpowers after a bizarre storm. He was nominated for three distinguishing Irish and British awards for his role as Nathan, as well as the character Darren Tracey in the Irish drama Love/Hate. He starred in the comedy film Killing Bono and Cherrybomb with Harry Potter star Rupert Grint.
After two seasons of Misfits, Robert left the show to pursue his acting career in America. Most recently, Robert has starred in the book-based film The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones where he plays Simon, the romantic in love with fellow actress Lily Collins. He has already agreed to star as Simon once more in the sequel The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes coming out in 2014. Next year will be a busy one for Sheehan as the actor is cast for four different movies, one of which he is set to play a young man with Tourette’s Syndrome embarking on a road trip with the ashes of his recently deceased mother in the film The Road Within. With this in mind, the twenty-five-year old is only getting started.
