Celebrities are known for their outrageous fashions, but sometimes we can take a cue from them on what to wear. Here are four trends that they pull off, that you can too now.
1. Colored Blazer: A well-structured blazer always pulls an outfit together.
Whether you pair it with a dress or jeans and a t-shirt, this classy jacket will always look good.
Update the traditional black blazer by adding some color to your outfit. Colored blazers are a fun way to switch up the traditional look.
Forever 21 has a floral bloom linen blazer ($26.90), or Bloomingdale’s aqua chambray boyfriend blazer (88.00), Vince rustic linen blazer ($395), and French Connection patrol cotton blazer ($198) in Teal.
2. Floppy Beach Hat: Vanessa Hudgens was recently spotted sporting a floppy beach hat with a simple button-down dress and Grecian sandals.
The floppy hat is indeed a big risk to take and seems to be one of those trends that can only pass on celebrities, but I can guarantee this will look darling with an outfit like Vanessa’s. Try Nordstrom’s Roxy sand box sun hat
($28) or Urban Outfitters has one with less of a flop, “staring at stars short brimmed hat” ($28).
3. Cut Out Dresses: Every celebrity is spotted in a form-fitting cut out dress. They are recreating the Little Black Dress and daring to take a chance in different cuts and styles.
In order to stay away from looking too exposed in these types of dresses, try something in a different style or with balanced cutouts in the front or back.
For instance, Urban Outfitters has the urban renewal linen cutout bandeau dress, which is a simple beautiful sundress with skin exposure in the front.
Or the Silence and Noise lattice dress which has a criss-crossed backing but a covered-up front. If you choose the style correctly, you will look stylish instead of slutty.
4. Ray Bans Wayfarer: Although Ray Bans are not a new trend (in fact the style brings you back to the 80’s), but these glasses are more popular than ever.
I see a lot of celebrities and even students around campus wearing these sunglasses, although I do know quite a few people who are afraid to take a chance on these classic shields (I know I am!).
These sunglasses look good on almost anyone though, so don’t be afraid to wear them.
The original style by Ray Ban goes for $145. You can find other options in the same style from places like Urban Outfitters for a mere $15.
