University of Tampa students, faculty and alumni are coming together to present their work at The Tampa Museum of Art.

On Thursday, April 15, the TMA and UT will be hosting Arts Nexus, a free event from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m outside the museum by the Hillsborough River.

Anyone can come and marvel at the different exhibits that will be there.

UT students will be presenting their films, music, performances and dance pieces at the event. There will also be live UT DJs, VJs and composers performing as well.

UT Faculty will also be presenting their work at the event including communications professor Dana Plays.

She will be premiering Demolition that features the old Tampa Art Museum being demolished. Bradford Blackburn, assistant professor of music, is a composer whose work includes exploring sonorization of movement and image.

Susan Taylor Lennon, professor of dance, is a choreographer. They will also be participating in the event.

This will be the first of many events that UT will do with TMA.

Heading this effort is Haig Mardirosian, dean of the College of Arts and Letters, and Todd Smith, executive director of the TMA.

According to Lennon, Jeff Gibbons, an art student, will be leading a parade from R.K. Bailey Art Studio to TMA.

Greg Cocchiaro is also involved in this.

Some of the dance students include Patrick Justin and Taylor Bardwell.

There are also some alumni involved, including Jenn Rosoff and LaBrisha Scott.

TMA is located near campus at 120 Gasparilla Plaza in the Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.

It will be a fun night for students, family and community members.

This is a great opportunity to support your fellow students and join in with the community.

It doesn’t matter what kind of art you like, there will be something for everyone at this event.
