University of Tampa assistant baseball coach Scott McNulty traveled to Busch Stadium on Monday July 13 to serve up home runs to Tampa Bay Rays first basemen, Carlos Pena.

Pena was able to connect with five McNulty lobs in the first round of the 2009 State Farm Home Run Derby. The five bombs only scored a three way tie with Twins catcher Joe Mauer and St. Louis slugger Albert Pujols. In the bat-off the duo, of Pena and McNulty, could only muster one long-ball, sending them to the spectator seats early.

McNulty ended the night with a total of six home run balls on 15 pitches.
