Summer radio bringing you down? You’re in luck – because an abundance of new albums are about to hit the airwaves. Across every genre, from pop to hip-hop, alternative to indie singer/songwriters, artists have been dropping records faster than you can hit the next button on your iPod. So if you’re wondering which musicians are making wave the multitude as this summer, here is a list of albums I suggest you check out immediately.

If you’re a fan of upbeat tracks sung by underage pop superstars, look no further than the new Jonas Brothers album entitled “Lines, Vines and Trying Times.” While I’m not a huge fan of the Jo Bros, I will admit, they know how to hold on to their listeners. This album features hits like Paranoid and Fly With Me so it’s sure to make your heart skip a beat!

But let’s say you’re all about girl power and you’re sick of Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato’s upcoming album, “Here We Go Again” is the one to look out for. The new pop princess and star of the Disney Channel’s, “Sonny With a Chance”, jam packs her album full of typical emotions of young teenagers and makes you feel like you were thirteen again.

If you’re in the market to hear something with a little more substance, the alternative/rock band All Time Low is releasing their must-have album entitled, “Nothing Personal.” Like their last record, expect to hear similar beats, guitar riffs and of course, lots of percussion. This is the type of record that makes you want to pick up a surfboard and hit the waves. Whether or not you can surf is another question!

Looking for something a little more on the rock side, Daughtry’s latest, “Leave This Town,” is the one for you. While some of his songs might be a little on the heavy side, his music definitely makes the jump between hard rock and mainstream. This is an absolute necessity of this summer.

If your more a little bit country than rock and roll, Brad Paisley’s “American Saturday Night” is a new one you will listen to every night of the week. His single, “Then,” has stormed the charts and is the perfect ingredient to add to any summer BBQ. But even if you are not a country music fan, give this one a chance. It might just change your mind.

Hip-hop has also had its fair share of great music this summer. The fast-talking rapper Twista dropped his highly anticipated new album, “Category F5” this week, which is sure to gain some great reviews. Although you might not catch all the lyrics the first time through, this album’s sure to be on repeat in your car, home and basically everywhere in between.

But what is there for the rest of us who are looking for something different but that won’t be overplayed on the radio? I think that answer lies in the hands of Regina Spektor. This pianist and lyrical songstress captures the very essence of singing from the heart in her latest album, “Far.” Regina’s music stays true to her prior albums and is sure to deliver a number of new classics. This album is a definite staple in any indie-lover’s music collection.

The folk/rock band Wilco also released a new one this summer you have got to hear. Appropriately self-titled “Wilco,” this album is a combination of thought-out lyrics with an original imaginative spin. If you considered yourself a fan before, this album will lock you in forever.

While this list might have been a bit eclectic in nature, it just goes to show how much is out there to soak in this season. The question now is, which albums you will actually purchase?
