ST. PETERSBURG – Three University of Tampa communication professors will show their work in an exhibit titled “Film Lingua II” at the C. Emerson Fine Arts Gallery in St. Petersburg. The show runs July 17 through Aug. 16.
Dana Plays, associate professor of communication, will exhibit a digital installation titled “Archival Extracts,” made possible in part by grants she received from The University of Tampa, including the David Delo Research Fellowship, Dana Summer Research Grant and Alumni Faculty Research Grant.
Dr. Tim Kennedy, professor, and chair of the Department of Communication, and Corey George, who teaches digital imaging for interactive media, will be exhibiting photography.
C. Emerson Fine Arts was founded in 2006 with the intention of going beyond familiar ground together with artists whose work is highly diverse and who mix different modes of expression to transcend established categories. All the artists exhibited are in their own way capable of expressing their emotions by presenting their world-view through questions regarding representation and their knowledge of the media they use.
The gallery is located on Central Avenue in St. Petersburg. For more information, contact Lori Johns at (727) 898-6068.
