Quilt and The Moroccan Gear Up for 2008 Editions

It’s getting close to the end of the year, which means it’s time for student publications such as Quilt and The Moroccan to release their anticipated annual issues.

While Quilt hits the shelves this week, The Moroccan is gearing up for its “most dynamic issue ever,” according to Editor-in-Chief Timur Aydin.

“We’re excited about the fact that this issue is different from every other edition of The Moroccan that’s ever come out,” he said.

Aydin also says that the photography this year is better, and that design principles and colors look more lively and fun.

The Moroccan officially finished its book on Sunday, and expects the release date to be around April 23. Aydin says that it was hard to meet the second deadline they had after spring break, but that overall “it was really a great year.”

While UT waits for the release of The Moroccan, students will be excited to learn that Quilt is releasing its annual edition today, Friday March 28.

Quilt will have its release party and Open Mic night at 8 p.m. in the Rathskellar.

According to Editor-in-Chief Chris Janus, the hardest thing about getting this year’s issue out was spreading the word and choosing submissions.

“There was a lot of good work to choose from,” he said.

Janus also says that he looks forward to showing UT what Quilt’s artists and writers have been up to all year.
