More than a dozen University of Tampa students showed up for free HIV/AIDS testing Tuesday night.
The event, which was held at the Kennedy Place Garden Room, offered students the opportunity to learn their status.
Those who attended the meeting were also treated to a 30 minute Sex Ed session before undergoing personal counseling and HIV testing.
Sara Stanko, the event coordinator and representative for Youth Education Services (YES), said it was important for students to know what they are being tested for.
“College students are the most rapidly infected population when it comes to STDs,” explained Sara. “At least in college is when they are contracting stuff.”
