The staffs of The Minaret and WUTT radio are proud to bring the University of Tampa podcast news.
A few members of The Minaret began recording the podcast news about five weeks ago.
Josh Kratovil, news editor for The Minaret, and staff reporter Ellery McCardle read the latest campus headlines while Christin Baker, another staff reporter, reads the latest Arts and Entertainment headlines.
The program was organized by Kendea Jones, a member of both the radio station and the paper. Jones hosts “Caribbean Grooves” as DJ Island Empress, and Assistant Editor-in-Chief at The Minaret.
“It’s something I have always wanted to do,” said Jones.
Jones mentioned a few future plans for the radio station, which included live broadcast from all Spartan sports events, as well as music on the radio station at all times during the day and night. The radio station also hopes to buy an F.M. dial station to broadcast farther than the current frequency, which only reaches campus wide.
Currently, WUTT is broadcasted on 1080 AM campus-wide and channel 23 on campus television. For more information on the station and a list of schedules and opportunities, please visit http://www.freewebs.com/wutt/index.htm.
