You can’t beat The Beat …

You’ll shoot your eye out! — At 1: 30 p.m. on April 16, UT Security, while serving dated papers to a student, observed a BB rifle on the floor of a room in McKay Hall. Security confiscated the weapon. The student will be referred to the Office of Student Conduct for violation of article 12, fireworks and weapons.

ZAP — At 2:55 p.m. on April 16, UT Security officers were dispatched to a student activating a taser weapon in the Vaughn Center. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the student, who relinquished the taser and stated he did not know UT had a policy of not allowing weapons on campus. Student will be referred to the student conduct board.

Don’t let it run your life – they call it “crackberry” for a reason! — At 11:30 a.m. on April 17, UT Security was contacted to report a missing Blackberry cell phone.

He must have been studying. — At 11:05 pm on April 17, UT Security was contacted to investigate a student’s strange behavior in Plant Hall.

“Man, I don’t want to go to Ybor this Thursday.” — At 11:00 p.m. on April 18, UT Security received a call from a student in the Vaughn Center of an incident that happened in February of 2007. Student wanted to have on file that another student made weird statements to him.

Busted! See front page. — At 2:50 p.m. on April 19, UT Security responded to Austin Hall upon a report of a person attempting to get into Austin Hall and making threats. UT Security, with the aid of TPD, apprehended the non-student, and placed him under arrest.
