Michael R. Gordon, chief military correspondent for The New York Times, will discuss the intersection of strategy and politics in the war in Iraq on Wednesday, April 11, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Vaughn Center Reeves Theater at The University of Tampa.
Gordon has worked for the The Times since 1985 and has covered the Defense Department, arms control, the proliferation of nuclear and chemical weapons and other national security issues. Gordon has been posted in Washington, Moscow and London. He has covered the United States intervention in Afghanistan, the Persian Gulf War, the Kosovo conflict, NATO’s military deployment in Macedonia, the U.S. invasion of Panama and the Russian invasion of Chechnya, among other conflicts. Currently, he is based in Washington.
