Letter to the Editor: Senior Trip Selection Unfair!

Dear Editor,

I am a senior and am graduating in May. I have always heard about ‘the senior cruise’ and how fantastic it was from people who have gone on it in the past. A few of my friends warned me to go sign up as space was limited to only 300. When I went to SAO to sign up, I was informed that I needed to get on the waiting list. When I asked how many students were graduating in May, the lady in SAO told me that there were over 700. Why is it that only a fraction of the senior class gets to attend this celebration when it’s ALL OF OUR MONEY that is paying for it? SAO said that they had advertised in a global e-mail about the cruise, but everyone who signed up for it and who I have talked to either heard it through word-of-mouth, never received the e-mail or haven’t heard of it at all. How is it that we can receive cap and gown sign up notices in our UT mailbox, but not one for the cruise.’
