
ooking for something pleasant and relaxing to do on campus on a Friday night after a long week of classes? Come listen to what critics say is a “grand departure from the usual.” The University of Tampa and the Music Department is proud to present the Manhattan Piano Trio.
The Manhattan Piano Trio will be performing on Friday, Feb. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Reeves Theater.
From Beethoven’s Trio No. 4 in B flat major, Op.11 to Tchaikovsky’s Valse Scherzo to Shostakovich’s Jazz Suite No. 1, the Manhattan Piano Trio will be sure to give you a smooth transition from a busy week to a restful weekend.
The Manhattan Piano Trio has played all over the world including Russia, Switzerland and Japan.
They have also won many awards. Most recently they were the Grand Prize Winners of the 2006 Plowman National Chamber Music Competition.
The three members of the trio are Milana Bahl (Piano), Dmitry Lukin (Violin) and Dmitry Kouzov (Cello). Both Dmitry Lukin and Dmitry Kouzov are from St. Petersburg, Russia and Milana Bahl is a Moldovan-born American.
During the summer of 2004, they met each other on the steps of The Juilliard School in New York City and have been sharing the emotion of the classical music world ever since.
They are currently in the middle of a tour to many different colleges and universities along with various community performing art centers around the United States.
