At the beginning of the 2022 football season, Kane’s Furniture Store announced that they would be giving away free Busch Gardens tickets. The tickets are one per individual and are only given when they score 21 or more points in any game this season–while supplies last.
In order to receive a ticket, you have to go to any Kane’s store and register within three calendar days after the winning game. You also have to be 18 and up and present a valid license.
One sales associate at the Kane’s in Tampa on North Dale Mabry location was surprised at the magnitude of people coming in for tickets.
“We definitely did not expect it to be as big as it was,” said Sarah, a retail associate “One day we gave out over 800 tickets, that was just for one of the days. It got so busy we had to ask the warehouse for help. It was a madhouse.”
This popularity comes after the first game the Buccaneers won this season on Oct. 9 versus the Atlanta Falcons. It was a home game at Raymond James and the score was 21-15. This is the first win that allowed the promotion to begin.
“I think it’s a good idea for the Bucs and Busch Gardens to have a partnership. I feel like there could be a correlation between this partnership and Tampa spirit overall and it may help Busch Gardens to get more repeat customers,” said senior business management major Leah Farrington.
People may not have many chances to take advantage of the promotion as the Buc’s haven’t had a great start this football season; the most shocking loss coming from the Steelers vs Bucs game in which the Steelers had a losing streak there past four games.
“This season has been a rough ride for the Bucs. Football being such a large team sport centered around offense defense and coaching, you need a solid connection between all three for success,” said political science major senior Andrew Elman.
Other franchises are holding promotions related to the Buccaneers this football season.
Coca-Cola has been working with the Buccaneers for over 50 years and they continue that tradition in a deal grabbing way. Burger King has partnered with Coca-Cola and is making every day game day by having an exclusive two for $12 mix and match meal deal all throughout the NFL Football season this fall.
Additionally, they partnered with PDQ in a multi-year deal with the team as the “Official Chicken Tender of The Tampa Bay Buccaneers.” PDQ is giving fans three free tenders the day after the Bucs score in a game as long as they purchase a combo meal.
“I think it’s pretty cool that local Tampa Bay businesses are offering discounts and such when the Bucs win. It is a great way to connect our Super Bowl winning team to local businesses here and boost our economy,” said senior public relations and advertising major Shannon Lindsey.
Hopefully the Bucs can redeem themselves in these next couple games, not only to improve our reputation this season, but also to score on these sweet deals.
