Police Beat

Candle Disposal Unit. At 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 30, UT Security responded to a call in reference to an unattended lit candle in the Nursing Center. Security removed the candle from the room.

Happy Halloween, sucker! At 1:55 p.m. on Oct. 31, UT Security observed a vehicle on the unregistered list. A look up was made on the database and the vehicle was not registered to park on campus. A towing company was contacted to remove the vehicle.

Hand party in the Computer Center … very nice! At 9:15 p.m. on Oct. 31, UT Security responded to a call of an indecent exposure in the computer center. Upon arrival, individual was gone.

Caught red … er, blue handed. At 3:05 a.m. Nov. 1, UT Security approached a male for questioning due to the smell of paint coming from his backpack. The individual confessed to spray-painting a door in the Thomas Garage. Tampa police was contacted, issued a trespass warning and removed the individual from campus.

Now she’ll HAVE to talk to me … At 7:30 a.m on Nov. 1, UT Security responded to a call of a person observed taking clothes from the Brevard Hall laundry room.

Fast food. Yuck, yuck, yuck! At 6:50 p.m. on Nov. 1, UT Security responded to a complaint of food thrown on top of a vehicle in the Plant Hall Parking lot.

More UT slapstick. At 2:00 p.m. on Nov. 3, UT Security met with an employee to report a slip and fall injury in the Vaughn Center.

“PULL THIS for a million dollars!” Sure, why not … At 2:55 a.m. on Nov. 5, UT Security responded to a fire alarm in Austin Hall. The alarm panel indicated a pull station was activated. TFR gave the all clear and reset the system.

Access Denied. NOT! At 3:20 a.m. on Nov. 5, UT Security was informed the exit gate arm had been damaged in the Plant Hall Parking Lot.

Laptop Larson. At 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 5, UT Security was informed of a missing laptop computer in Straz Hall.

Finders keepers! At 3:00 p.m. on Nov. 5, UT Security was informed of a student’s wallet that was missing at a location off campus.

Can you hear me now? Nope. At 3:55 p.m. on Nov. 5, UT Security was contacted to report a missing cell phone.
