Inter-Fraternity Council recommended sanctions for Kappa Sigma fraternity last week.
The fraternity, which was recently allowed back on campus after serving previous violations, planned this week to appeal the sanctions.
The sanctions were for alleged violations of sections two, eight, and 10 of the Recruitment Guidelines.
Section 2 declares that all fraternities must run a substance free recruitment process.
Section 8 declares that chapters must abstain from any coercive recruiting techniques.
Section 10 declares that all recruitment activities are to be in good taste.
By The Minaret deadline, it remained unclear what spefically the fraternity did to violate these sections of the recruitment rules, or what specific sanctions were being recommended for the fraternity.
Kappa Sigma President Jordan Rubin questions the validity of the recommended sanctions, saying they were never placed in writing. Rubin declined to comment beyond this until the appeal has been heard.
