Highlights From September 5 Meeting

General Interest: -On September 15, from 3:30 – 5 p.m., the President’s Dinner will be held on the 9 Floor of Vaughn.

-Diversity Fellowship is accepting applications for leadership roles / board positions.

-Up Til Dawn is hosting a fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Campus organizations can participate as a whole and send groups to participate as they work together to achieve common goal. Organizations can form a team of 6 and can send multiple teams. The culminating event will be an all-team meeting, consisting of 6 hours of games and prizes, along with a band. During this event, each team member writes 50 letters to friends and family around the country. In spring, awards will be given out to the most spirited team, the team with the most donations as well as the team with the most letters.

-SP: Rent in Reeves 8 p.m. Friday (today). Author Jennifer Worick will be in Reeves on Monday, September 11 at 8 p.m.

Executive Board Reports

President Andrew Maddock: Nothing to report, welcome back.

Vice President Joshua Murphy: Congress elections are coming up, interest / mandatory meeting this Friday at 4 p.m. in SG office, Vaughn 220.

Treasurer Ali Mathe: Finance committee meetings Mondays at 6 p.m. and Thursdays at 5 p.m. in Vaughn 220 to register and discuss appropriations and funding for groups.

Secretary Stephanie Dutka: There is a new policy for announcements. Organizations should e-mail announcements in blurb form to SG@ut.edu. Announcements will then be posted on PowerPoint during the following week’s meeting, in the Minaret and in global event email.

Director of Public Relations Jabari Bennett: Students should have a voice, and that voice can be heard at SG@ut.edu.

Director of Special Events Mark Kieslor: Special Events Committee meets Wednesdays from 8-9 p.m. in the SG office in Vaughn 220.

Director of Student Services Bradley Whittier: The NY Times has decreased by 50 copies, but is still available in Vaughn, Sykes, Plant Hall and in the Mailroom. Also, the free bus passes policy has changed. From now on, there will only be 15 per day on a first come first serve basis. If you need a daily pass go to SAO to purchase one at a discount.

RHA President Katie Seamands: Nothing to report, welcome back.
